Local Towns

PORTSMOUTH:
To the west of Tournerbury lies the historic naval city and dockyards of Portsmouth. There is much to do in Portsmouth, from visiting the naval dockyards and touring world famous naval ships such as Nelson’s HMS Victory, The Mary Rose and The Warrior to visiting the newly built Gunwharf Quays and Spinnaker Tower, which if you don’t suffer from vertigo, gives outstanding views across Portsmouth Harbour and the Solent to the Isle of Wight and the English Channel.

CHICHESTER:
This beautiful market city with its stunning cathedral and Roman walls is a favourite haunt of our guests. There are fabulous shops, bars, cafes and restaurants, an excellent farmers market and the world renowned Chichester Festival Theatre. During the summer months, the Chichester Festivities attract leading names from Broadway and the West End in performances at the Festival Theatre. Chichester is surrounded by beautiful West Sussex countryside and we can highly recommend a number of outstanding country pubs and walks in the area.

GOODWOOD:
Synonymous with style and speed, The Goodwood Estate is just on the other side of Chichester. Tournerbury is a wonderful location for you to base yourself during any of the annual events held on the Goodwood estate such as; The Festival of Speed, Goodwood Revival, Glorious Goodwood horse racing etc etc.

PLACES TO VISIT BY BOAT:

During your stay you will have the opportunity to charter our 8.5meter powerboat 'Monkey Puzzle' to whizz you at high speed to destinations all around the Solent. Our previous guests have visited the following places - Isle of Wight (Cowes, Yarmouth, Priory Bay, Seaview, Bembridge, The Needles) , Southampton, Hamble River, Beaulieu River, Lymington in the New Forest, Itchenor, Bosham etc etc. You can go to the Pub by boat (a favourite excursion of our guests), or shopping in Portsmouth's spectacular Gunwharf Quays waterside development, followed by a tour around the Solent watching the wide variety of shipping and leisure boaters.
